Essay - Colour

Colour
Colour is a perception in our eyes and is an essence in everything. It is more that what is merely seems to be and we as individuals take it for granted and do not realize the depth that represents any such colour. Colours can also influence a person’s moods, feelings and emotion; they could also play a part in a person’s actions, for example; responses to people, situations and ideas.
My favourite colour is blue and all shades of it. It is a cool colour that symbolizes the colour of the sky and ocean. I feel that the colour blue gives a feeling of distance and most artists use it to show perspective. By using this colour scheme artists try to create a sense of energy and depth in the painting. Thus helping to create balance and allows one to look beyond and increase ones level of perspective outward.
Artist's Work- Showing perspective
The colour turquoise can also be considered as a shade or blue. It can represent a symbol of youth and it is also a colour of a famous gem stone. I feel that it brings about a soothing effect as well as a certain kind of energy and can be seen as a colour that symbolizes relaxation as well as feelings of communication and peace. The colour also has a deep meaning to it, hence has been used in amulets to represent health, confidence, strength and protection.
